ISAMUN BACKGROUND
International South African Model United Nations
International South African Model United Nations (ISAMUN) is an intensive three days simulation of the United Nations held annually, targeting not only students but also young civil society activist. After the South African BRICS Youth Association hosted a successful World Youth Summit in Johannesburg which focused on the Model United Nations, scores of young people that participated in the Summit, called for the annual conference on MUN in South Africa. During the period of the conference, delegates engaged themselves in the dynamics of international relations by assuming the roles of world leaders and influential decision makers.
With the upcoming summit delegates will be able to develop leadership, research, writing, public speaking, negotiations, persuasive, as well as problem-solving skills. We firmly believe that active participation encourages consensus-building through mediation and negotiation, conflict resolution and the ability to rapidly build cordial and long lasting relations among people of different cultures and ideologies. The inaugural ISAMUN will take place in September 2021, in South Africa.

About Model United Nations (MUN)
Model UN or MUN (Model United Nations) also known as simulation of United Nations, is an educational or an academic activity in which youths act as a diplomats and represent their countries in simulation of different UN committees and special agencies. They gather at one platform to discuss and resolve global issues, such conferences organized by high schools, colleges, universities as well as different NGO’s who are associated to or work under the umbrella of United Nations. At the closing of most conferences, the hard work of participants and their performance throughout the duration of the conferences are adjudicated by the Chairperson/Director of Committees.
